"Fibreshed Sampler" is a collection of live sketches, notes, and scans from a six-week fibre art workshop in Vancouver, Canada.
This workshop explores the rich, hyper-local fibreshed of EartHand's learning gardens. The zine documents the many plants growing in the garden, including milkweed, nettle, dogbane, fireweed, daylily, and more. Participants learned techniques such as fibre extraction from stalks, ropemaking, and multi-strand braiding. Their creations—ranging from petite woven pouches to other small fibre objects—become part of a fibre library, supporting future project planning. These explorations are sure to transform the way fibre plants are perceived.
